Stellar Blade
Low-end PC guide: FPS boost, lag and stutter fix

Stellar Blade config file
Free. The download link appears after a short wait.
- Put it in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\SB\ Saved\ Config\ WindowsNoEditor - Engine
- Unreal Engine 4
Stellar Blade is built on Unreal Engine 4, and its minimum GPU is a GTX 1060 with 6 GB of VRAM. This guide gives you a free Engine.ini, the settings to change first, and fixes for stutter on a weak PC.
Can you run Stellar Blade on a low end PC?
- CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K, or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X or Ryzen 5 2600X
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, or AMD Radeon RX 580
- RAM: 16 GB
- VRAM: 6 GB
- Storage: 75 GB
- OS: Windows 10
- DirectX: 12
If your PC is below these specs, the game may run poorly even with this config. The config lowers the work your GPU has to do, but it can’t make up for missing hardware.
Best Stellar Blade settings for low end PCs
- Start with the Low preset, then change the items below.
- Upscaling: Pick FSR 3.1. It works on any GPU. DLSS 4 is the other option, but it needs an Nvidia RTX card.
- Frame rate cap: Set it to 60. If your PC can’t hold 60 FPS, set it to 30.
- V-Sync: Turn it off. It can hold your frame rate to the monitor’s refresh rate and add input lag.
- Rendering scale: Leave it at 100 percent. Higher values render more pixels and cost a lot of GPU power.
- Window mode: Pick borderless windowed if you switch between apps often.
Stellar Blade Engine.ini location and install
- Download the zip with the button above. Unzip it and find the
Engine.inifile. - Close Stellar Blade completely, including any launcher that is still running.
- Press Windows + R, paste
%LOCALAPPDATA%\SB\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditorand press Enter. If the folder doesn’t exist, start Stellar Blade once, close it, and try again. - If the folder already has an
Engine.ini, rename it toEngine.ini.bak. This is your backup. - Copy the new
Engine.iniinto the folder. - Start the game.

How to fix Stellar Blade stuttering and FPS drops
Stellar Blade is an Unreal Engine 4 game, so the first launch can compile shaders. Let that finish, and expect hitches for the first few minutes.
The game needs 75 GB of free storage. If you can, install it on an SSD.
Then work through the basics on Windows:
- Close background apps, such as browsers and overlays from launchers.
- Update your GPU driver from the official site: Nvidia, AMD or Intel.
- On a laptop, plug in the power cable and set the power mode to best performance.
Undo the changes
Delete Engine.ini from the folder. If you made a backup, rename Engine.ini.bak back to Engine.ini instead. The game rebuilds its defaults.
Stellar Blade FAQ
Where is the Stellar Blade Engine.ini file?
Stellar Blade keeps it in %LOCALAPPDATA%\SB\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor. Press Windows + R, paste that path and press Enter. If the folder doesn't exist yet, start the game once, close it and check again.
Can Stellar Blade run on a low end PC?
Stellar Blade's minimum GPU is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 with 6 GB of VRAM, plus 16 GB of RAM. A PC below that may struggle even with the Engine.ini config, because the config lowers GPU work but can't replace missing hardware.
How do I fix Stellar Blade stuttering and FPS drops?
Let the first launch finish, since Unreal Engine games compile shaders and stutter for the first few minutes. Install the game on an SSD if you can. Close background apps, update your GPU driver and use the best performance power mode on a laptop.
How do I go back to the original Stellar Blade Engine.ini?
Delete Engine.ini from the config folder, or rename your Engine.ini.bak backup back to Engine.ini. The file's header says that deleting it returns the game to its defaults.
