Hi-Fi Rush
Low-end PC guide: FPS boost, lag and stutter fix

Hi-Fi Rush config file
Free. The download link appears after a short wait.
- Put it in
%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\ TangoGameworks\ Hi-Fi RUSH (STEAM)\ Saved\ Config\ WindowsNoEditor - Engine
- Unreal Engine 4
Hi-Fi Rush runs on Unreal Engine 4, and its minimum GPU is a GTX 1050 or an RX 560. This guide gives you a free Engine.ini, the settings to change first, and fixes for stutter on a weak PC.
Can you run Hi-Fi Rush on a low end PC?
- CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 560
- RAM: 8 GB
- VRAM: 4 GB
- Storage: 20 GB
- OS: Windows 10
- DirectX: 12
A PC below these specs may struggle. The config cuts the work your GPU has to do, but it can’t stand in for hardware you don’t have.
Best Hi-Fi Rush settings for low end PCs
- Start with the lowest graphics preset the game offers, then change the items below.
- Upscaling: Pick TSR or XeSS, since both work on any GPU. FSR 1.0 works on any GPU too. DLSS 2.4 needs an Nvidia RTX card.
- Frame rate cap: The game caps at 60 FPS by default, and cutscenes stay at 60 whatever you choose. Keep the cap at 60. If your PC can’t hold 60, use 30 instead.
- V-Sync: Turn it off. It locks your frame rate to your monitor’s refresh rate.
- Anti-aliasing: The game offers Off, FXAA and TAA. Pick FXAA, or Off if you need more FPS.
- Window mode: Pick borderless windowed.

How to fix Hi-Fi Rush stuttering and FPS drops
Hi-Fi Rush is an Unreal Engine 4 game, so the first launch compiles shaders. Let that finish, and expect hitches for the first few minutes.
If you can, install the game on an SSD. It needs 20 GB of storage.
Then work through the basics on Windows:
- Close background apps, such as browsers and overlays from launchers.
- Update your GPU driver from the official site: Nvidia, AMD or Intel.
- On a laptop, plug in the power cable and set the power mode to best performance.
Undo the changes
Delete Engine.ini from the folder. If you made a backup, rename Engine.ini.bak back to Engine.ini instead. Deleting the file sends the game back to its defaults.
Hi-Fi Rush FAQ
Where is the Hi-Fi Rush Engine.ini file?
The Engine.ini file goes in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\TangoGameworks\Hi-Fi RUSH (STEAM)\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor. Press Windows + R, paste that path and press Enter. If the folder is missing, start the game once and check again.
Can Hi-Fi Rush run on a low end PC?
Hi-Fi Rush's minimum GPU is an Nvidia GTX 1050 or AMD RX 560 with 4 GB of VRAM, plus 8 GB of RAM. On a PC below that, expect poor performance even with the Engine.ini file, because the file cuts GPU work but can't replace missing hardware.
Which upscaler should I use on an older GPU in Hi-Fi Rush?
Pick TSR or XeSS, since both work on any GPU. FSR 1.0 also runs on any GPU. Hi-Fi Rush also offers DLSS 2.4, but that needs an Nvidia RTX card, so skip it on an older GPU.
How do I fix Hi-Fi Rush stuttering?
Let the first launch finish, because Unreal Engine 4 compiles shaders and causes hitches for the first few minutes. Install the game on an SSD if you can. Close background apps, update your GPU driver and use the best performance power mode on a laptop.
Is it safe to undo the Hi-Fi Rush Engine.ini changes?
Yes. Delete the Engine.ini file from the config folder, or rename your Engine.ini.bak backup to Engine.ini if you made one. The config file says that deleting it sends the game back to its defaults.
