Low-end PC guide: FPS boost, lag and stutter fix

Persona 3 Reload config file
Free. The download link appears after a short wait.
- Put it in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\P3R\ Saved\ Config\ WindowsNoEditor - Engine
- Unreal Engine 4
Persona 3 Reload came out in February 2024 and runs on Unreal Engine 4.27.2. This guide gives you a free config file that turns down the heavy post-processing, lighting and shadow settings, plus the in-game settings to change first and fixes for stutter on a weak PC.
Can you run Persona 3 Reload on a low end PC?
- OS: Windows 10
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 or AMD FX-4350
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti or AMD Radeon HD 7850
- RAM: 8 GB
- VRAM: 2 GB
- DirectX: 12
- Storage: 30 GB
If your PC is at or above these specs, the config and the settings below should help. Below them, expect low frame rates even with the config. The config cuts graphics work, but it can’t replace missing hardware.
Best Persona 3 Reload settings for low end PCs
Start with the lowest graphics options the game offers, then change these:
- Frame rate cap: Set it to 60. If your PC can’t hold 60 frames per second, set it to 30. The game also offers 120, but skip it on a low end PC. On some systems the menus drop to 30 FPS with that cap.
- V-Sync: Turn it off and let the frame cap keep the frame rate steady.
- Window mode: Pick borderless windowed.
- Ray tracing: Turn off ray traced reflections. The game labels them Reflections in its options.
- Rendering Scale: Keep it at 100 percent. Above 100 percent the game supersamples, which costs frames.
- Anti-aliasing: It’s forced to TAA, so there’s no setting to turn off.

How to fix Persona 3 Reload stuttering and FPS drops
Persona 3 Reload is an Unreal Engine 4 game. The first launch compiles shaders, so let that finish. Expect stutter for the first few minutes.
If you can, install the game on an SSD. It needs 30 GB of storage.
Then work through the basics on Windows:
- Close background apps, such as browsers and overlays from launchers.
- Update your GPU driver from the official site: Nvidia, AMD or Intel.
- On a laptop, plug in the power cable and set the power mode to best performance.
Known issues
- Menus drop to 30 FPS. On some systems the menus run at 30 FPS when the frame cap is 120. Use a cap of 60 instead.
- Graphics changes don’t stick. Graphics options are tied to the current save game. Save the game after you change them, or they won’t persist until you do.
- The game opens on the wrong monitor. If you set it to a second monitor, it starts on the primary display after a restart. Load a save file and the window moves to the right screen.
Undo the changes
Delete Engine.ini from the folder, or rename Engine.ini.bak back to Engine.ini if you made a backup. Deleting the file returns the game to its defaults.
