Tekken 8
Low-end PC guide: FPS boost, lag and stutter fix

Tekken 8 config file
Free. The download link appears after a short wait.
- Put it in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\TEKKEN 8\ Saved\ Config\ Windows - Engine
- Unreal Engine 5
Tekken 8 runs on Unreal Engine 5.2.1, and its minimum GPU is a GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of VRAM. This guide gives you a free Engine.ini, the settings to change first and fixes for stutter on a weak PC.
Can you run Tekken 8 on a low end PC?
- CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon R9 380X
- RAM: 8 GB
- VRAM: 4 GB
- Storage: 100 GB
- OS: Windows 10, with DirectX 12
A PC below these specs may run the game poorly even with this config. The config lowers the work your GPU has to do, but it can’t make up for missing hardware.
Best Tekken 8 settings for low end PCs
- Start with the Low preset, then change the items below.
- Upscaling: Pick TSR or XeSS. Both work on any GPU. DLSS 3.1 needs an Nvidia RTX card, so skip it on older cards.
- Frame rate cap: Tekken 8 is locked to 60 FPS by default, so you don’t need to set a cap.
- Anti-aliasing: Pick Low, which is off. The higher levels take more GPU time.
- V-Sync: Turn it off. It ties your frame rate to your monitor’s refresh rate.
- Window mode: Pick borderless windowed.
Tekken 8 Engine.ini location and install
- Download the zip with the button above. Unzip it and find the
Engine.inifile. - Close Tekken 8 completely, including any launcher that is still running.
- Press Windows + R, paste
%LOCALAPPDATA%\TEKKEN 8\Saved\Config\Windowsand press Enter. If the folder doesn’t exist, start Tekken 8 once, close it and try again. - If the folder already has an
Engine.ini, rename it toEngine.ini.bak. This is your backup. - Copy the new
Engine.iniinto the folder. - Start the game.

- Lumen mesh distance field tracing is off.
- Nanite detail is set lower.
- Virtual shadow maps use a lower resolution for directional and local lights.
The streaming settings turn on async loading and turn off forced garbage collection, for smoother loading and fewer hitches when you move between areas.
How to fix Tekken 8 stuttering and FPS drops
Tekken 8 is an Unreal Engine 5 game, so the first launch compiles shaders. Let that finish, and expect hitches for the first few minutes.
If you can, install the game on an SSD. It needs 100 GB of storage.
Then work through the basics on Windows:
- Close background apps, such as browsers and overlays from launchers.
- Update your GPU driver from the official site: Nvidia, AMD or Intel.
- On a laptop, plug in the power cable and set the power mode to best performance.
Undo the changes
Delete Engine.ini from the folder. If you made a backup, rename Engine.ini.bak back to Engine.ini instead. The game goes back to its defaults.
Tekken 8 FAQ
Where is the Tekken 8 Engine.ini file?
Tekken 8 keeps it in %LOCALAPPDATA%\TEKKEN 8\Saved\Config\Windows. Press Windows + R, paste the path and press Enter. If the folder isn't there yet, start the game once, close it and check again.
Can Tekken 8 run on a low end PC?
The minimum GPU is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon R9 380X with 4 GB of VRAM. A PC below that may run the game poorly even with this config, because the config lowers graphics work but can't replace missing hardware.
Which upscaler should I use on an older GPU in Tekken 8?
Pick TSR or XeSS, since both work on any GPU. Tekken 8 also offers DLSS 3.1, but it needs an Nvidia RTX card, so older GPUs should skip it.
How do I fix Tekken 8 stuttering and FPS drops?
Let the first launch finish, because Unreal Engine 5 compiles shaders and causes hitches for the first few minutes. Install the game on an SSD if you can, close background apps and update your GPU driver.
Does the Tekken 8 Engine.ini fix online lag?
No. The Engine.ini file only changes graphics settings. It doesn't touch your connection or the game's netcode, so it won't reduce online lag or lag spikes.
